Artemis is a very independent and free spirit. She is loyal to the gods but hates being confined on Olympus and often hunts with her twin brother, Apollo. When the giants threaten to attack, Artemis is sent to get help from Zeus' brother, Poseidon. She goes to his ocean palace and begs Poseidon to come back with her. He agrees and the two race back to Olympus. Artemis fights in the battle with the giants and slays the giant Otos, who had fallen in love with her and wanted her for a bride.

Artemis has to be strong and free. She doesn't connect well with people, she connects with animals and nature. Keira has been my pick for years, but I wen through a time where I didn't like her and wanted someone else. Finally, I realized that Keira is the perfect fit for Artemis, she is fierce, feisty and free and she would be great as the goddess of the hunt.

Her animal companion is a stag.
